The Painted Piano Community Project – Coming Summer 2026
Friends of Oconomowoc Parks and Trails (FOPT) is bringing music, art, and community together in a vibrant way with our Painted Community Piano Project! In the summer of 2026, a beautifully hand-painted piano will be placed just off the boardwalk in Oconomowoc — ready for anyone and everyone to stop by, take a seat, and play.
This will be more than just an instrument — it will be a piece of public art, a celebration of creativity, and a gathering spot for locals and visitors alike.
Call for Artists – Your Artwork Could Be On Display for All to See in Downtown Oconomowoc!
We’re inviting artists to submit their ideas and drawings for the piano’s design.
The theme: “The Best of Oconomowoc” — a visual art piece to our community.
Submission Timeline

August–October 20th 2025 – Accepting artist concepts and sketches

By November 1, 2025 – Winner announced and selected to paint the piano

Your art is displayed in one of Oconomowoc’s most visited summer spots

Support from FOPT to help with painting supplies (Up to $400) and Piano move.

Public art and music create joy, inspire conversation, and strengthen community bonds. By combining both in one project, we’re creating something unique that invites interaction, creativity, and connection.
